Brembo Racing GR-PRO Disc Brake Set F & R

The same engineering obsession Brembo brings to MotoGP™ and Formula 1® - where milliseconds and millimetres decide everything - is now built into every component of GR-PRO. Created for riders who demand more than pure stopping power, GR-PRO allows you to fine-tune brake response to your riding style. The result is a braking system that feels like a natural extension of your instinct - never a limitation. From the first meter of a descent to the very last, performance remains uncompromised. No fade. No surprises. Whatever the trail delivers, grip, control, and confidence stay constant. This is Brembo's first braking system developed specifically for MTB. And it's engineered as if a championship depended on it.

Master Cylinder

The GR Pro features a large master cylinder, secured in place with a split clamp design. The reason for the large master cylinder is simple; large volumes of fluid improve brake consistency. Brembo have set out to create a brake which feels fantastic, from the top of the hill all the way to the bottom.

Adjustment

There's 30 mm of lever reach adjustment, with a tactile wheel giving 40 distinct clicks, allowing you to dial in your lever position with great precision. Bite point adjustment has 7 clicks, and can be set by using a 3 mm allen key. There's also a third adjustment, which changes the ratio of lever pull and piston push. In simple terms, it changes how the brake feels. You can create a brake with a very definite bite, or a brake with a lighter and more progressive feel.

Caliper

The caliper is two piece alloy, with four 18 mm pistons, whose aluminium outers are filled with a fibre polymer insulating material that extends beyond the edge of the alloy piston.

The polymer is in contact with the pads, and has heat insulating properties to transmit less heat to the caliper and the fluid. By reducing heat transfer, it means the brakes are more consistent the entire way down the hill.

Pads and Discs

Brembo created 30 different pad compounds, and tested with the Specialized Gravity Team. They settled on a semi-metallic compound, and that very same compound is the one which will be supplied in customer's brakes. The discs are 2.3 mm thick, because thinner discs can be prone to overheating quickly. The design is based on Brembo's motorbike rotors, and can be purchased in either 200 or 220 mm options.

All brake sets are supplied 2 x sets of pads; one set to install immediately, and another to keep as spare.
