Transition Sentinel Alloy MTB Deore Complete Bike

Send-It-All On The All New Sentinel

A bike that says yes to every trail, every ride and begs for more.

The Sentinel rides the lines between planted bottomless sender and playful, poppy trail pony. This leaves it right in the sweet spot, as we like to call it. It's versatile attitude helps riders excel and push their limits, making it the one bike most will need. Its intuitive nature is easy to get acquainted with; you'll find yourself sending lines, jumps, and manoeuvres you always felt were beyond your ability. Where before you went around, now you go over. Where you pushed up, now you pedal. Where you rolled, now you boost. It's time to Send-It-All.

Refining The Legend

The new Sentinel may have a similar silhouette, but we've fully redesigned the frame with updated industrial design, features, and geometry to turn it up a notch. The leverage curve supports the bike higher in its travel, leaving plenty of room for big hits while keeping it light on its feet to remain nimble and quick everywhere else. This gives it the lively, sporty attitude felt in the Spur and Smuggler without sacrificing its capabilities in rougher terrain. New size specific chainstays and a 64 degree headtube angle keep riders balanced with great traction on climbs and descents. All of this creates a bike that encourages new riders to push their limits, while ensuring a seasoned pro feels none.

Refined Details

We took a step back and looked for ways to improve the Sentinel, not just for the sake of change but for real, tangible steps forward that riders will feel and experience.

We added internal frame storage in the downtube of our carbon frame. The B.O.O.M. Box (Burritos Or Other Munchies) is positioned below and isolated from the water-bottle cage mount. This allows you to leave your bottle installed in your cage while easily getting into the B.O.O.M. Box, reducing clutter and fuss on the trail. It also prevents noise by not placing any weight on the door itself. With an easy access lever and two supplied gear bags, riders can stow away snacks, tools, a tube, or anything else they want to have along for the ride.

Geo-Adjust Flip Chip

The lower shock mount has a geo-adjust flip chip to accommodate mixed wheels, and features a new design that allows water, dirt and debris to easily wash away. Low for 29" rear wheel, high for 27.5".

Mud Guard

The Sentinel comes with a pre-installed mud guard to protect the main pivot area, improving the bearing life.

Chainstay Protector

An all-new chainstay protector minimizes chain slap, so you can enjoy the sound of your favourite turns. The "pillow top" design features large rubber pillows that dampen sound and protect the chainstay.

Cable Ports

Cable ports on the side of the headtube allow for easy and simple cable routing with customizable options for mechanical or wireless shifting as well as left or right rear brake setups. The new port stops cables from getting kinked during a crash and holds them tight to prevent rattling. If you aren't using the port at all, simply cover it with the supplied insert to prevent dirt or water from getting inside your frame and keep a clean aesthetic. These ports help improve the looks of the frame while remaining functional and simple for maintenance.

To give you the most bottle options on any size bike, every Sentinel comes with a Fidlock base installed. Fidlock bottles give you more volume of water in a smaller space, allowing for a Fidlock 450 ml bottle on our XS frame, up to 590 ml on SM, and up to 750 ml on MD-XXL. Bottles and all other Fidlock accessories sold separately.

Speed Balance Geometry

SBG ensures the bike maintains low speed agility, front wheel traction, and proper rider weight balance while actually increasing confidence in steep terrain and at high speeds. With SBG, a slacker head tube angle is combined with a reduced offset fork standard, preventing the front wheel from being too far in front of the rider. This improves front to rear weight distribution on the bike, which is often out of balance on long and slack bikes. One of SBG's greatest benefits is that it creates a confident steering feel that adapts to wheel speed. More stability when going fast, more agility on technical slow speed manoeuvring as well as improved traction, control and confidence for any skill level of rider.

Carbon & Aluminium Frame Options

We want everyone to have the bike of their dreams, so we are offering the Sentinel in both carbon and aluminum. To make this bike as accessible as possible, we crafted the aluminum frame to remain simple, keeping costs and weight to a minimum. This means it does not have the B.O.O.M. Box, but does still have the flip chip and all other features found on the carbon frame. The aluminum frame is available with two build kits, Shimano Deore and XT, as well as frame only. The carbon frame is available in three build levels, Shimano Deore, XT, and SRAM X0 AXS as well as frame only. Each carbon build has the same high quality carbon construction including the B.O.O.M. Box and frame bags.

Giddyup Suspension Design

We want to make it as easy as possible to experience great rear suspension performance. The GiddyUp suspension system is designed to behave intuitively across a broad range of setup. Because, we get it, sometimes you just want to grab your bike and GiddyUp, without checking your setup. When you do, it will always feel good.

We did this by balancing a 25% progressive leverage curve with a consistent linear rate of change. Anti-squat is tuned to enhance pedalling performance and acceleration. Overall chain growth is moderate and reduces after sag so chain tension doesn't get in the way of the suspension working.

This translates to killer small bump compliance and great mid-stroke support that gradually transitions into a subtle yet supportive end-of-stroke ramp. The amount of consistent progression is carefully optimized for both air and coil shocks. Riders are able to add or remove volume spacers in air shocks to suite their individual riding style and there is no compromise to bottom out support with coil shocks. The Sentinel has 150 mm of rear wheel travel when used with the supplied 205 × 60mm stroke shock. It is also possible to install a longer stroke shock of 205 × 65 mm to increase the rear wheel travel to 160mm.

A wide usable sag range of 26 - 33% allows the rider to tune the feel of the bike; from poppy and playful, to planted for ploughing. Wherever you end up, you can focus on the trail without remotes, levers or knobs. Just grab your bike and GiddyUp.

"The Sentinel V3 remains true to its ride-everything identity while improving its climbing efficiency and responsiveness on low-angle trails. Still a capable descender that can hold its own on when things get gnarly, the Sentinel flourishes most on trails that maximize its maneuverability and fast handling. You tack on the new additions of mixed wheel compatibility, internal storage, updated chain slap protection, reworked cable routing, UDH on carbon frames, and a geometry flip chip, and the Sentinel V3 answers the wants of many past owners. Refined, not redesigned, looks pretty damn good." — Jason Schroeder @ vitalmtb.com
"Since it was first launched, the Sentinel has represented exactly what you want in a trail bike, and the latest version continues the tradition: it's happy to pedal and climb all day long if you need it to, but it's all still in service of the descent. And when that time comes, the Sentinel delivers. Even if you get in a bit over your head, it has you covered. It won't replace the big bike for some, and it isn't pretending to, but it does a great job as a stand in. As far as trail bikes go, the Sentinel keeps its spot high on my list of favourites." — Pete Roggeman @ nsmb.com
"I think this bike is for the mountain biker — for the purist, the minimalist, the no-nonsense-ist. It's not full of fancy bells and whistles, no marketing gimmicks, no proprietary BS, and despite all that, it's a damn good bicycle. It's a mountain bike with ports to route your damn shifter cables if you want them. It takes that same mentality out to the trails. It goes uphill and downhill and doesn't pigeonhole itself into some tiny little niche. It's happy in all kinds of terrain and never gets in your way. It goes as hard or easy as you'd like, it's just happy to be outside in the woods." — Conor Barry @ Bikers Edge
"As far as a summary on the new Sentinel, I am extremely impressed by my first impressions and I'm hard pressed to pick apart a single low point. While many things appeal in terms of the bike's features, it was the improved ride quality - which stems from perfectly refined kinematics and razor sharp geometry - that really won me over." — Ian Collins @ mtb-mag.com
